American's Obsession with the car has has a major impact on energy usage. The use of the car led : 1) to a reduction in mass transit rail 2) to growth of the suburban culture 3) to interstate highways which changed many small town 4) humans to disconnect from Nature 5) the American preference of ease, convenience, and speed over simplicity, effort, and hardwork.
